On the morning of October 17, 2023, Professor Harald HAU, a professor of economics and finance from the Faculty of Economics and Management (GSEM) at the University of Geneva, the Director of the International Institute of Finance Geneva, and a senior visiting professor at the International Institute of Finance in Switzerland, engaged in in-depth exchanges with faculty. The exchange session was presided over by Zhengkai ZHOU, the Deputy Dean of the International Institute of Finance, and attracted enthusiastic participation.

The professor gave a detailed introduction to the learning and living environment of the University of Geneva.

Next, the exchange session entered a free communication phase. Teachers sincerely sought Professor HAU's advice on their concerns about work and scientific research issues. For example, how to identify significant research questions, how to discover valuable research issues, and how to more effectively collect, analyze, and reproduce results, etc. The professor shared his experiences and insights from his own research experience. He expressed his preference for discovering problems from the latest news reports and believes that China has many interesting economic issues worth researching. He encouraged everyone present to read more and think more.

At the end of the exchange session, everyone expressed their gratitude for Professor HAU's sincere sharing. Under his guidance, the exchange session concluded in a warm and harmonious atmosphere. This exchange not only deepened the understanding of the University of Geneva among the faculty and others but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation between the two sides.

In the afternoon, Professor HAU lectured on "Financial Technology Credit and Corporate Growth" at the International Institute of Finance.

During the lecture, Professor HAU skillfully combined empirical research based on micro-data of financial technology with theoretical analysis, deeply exploring how to prove through empirical analysis that traditional banks cannot meet the credit needs of  micro enterprises. In addition, he raised a series of related questions to deepen understanding and cognition of the credit market and financial technology.

The academic lecture concluded successfully in a lively exchange atmosphere.
